EIT – Girls Go Circular

The Girls Go Circular project supports schoolgirls, and more broadly, any student, to develop their digital and leadership skills while learning about the circular economy and finding solutions for a sustainable future.

The project is implemented in our network, through the educational platform https://eit-girlsgocircular.eu/, which gives students the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of circular economics, while acquiring digital and entrepreneurial skills. The platform and courses are designed to engage students in practical activities, individually and in groups, and to encourage them to work on solutions to important social and environmental challenges.

The project was initiated by the European Commission where according to European Commission’s Women in Digital Scoreboard 2019, women represent only 34% of STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) graduates and 17% of ICT (information and communication technologies) specialists.

By strengthening the skills of 14 to 18 year – old girls in Southern and Eastern Europe, the Girls Go Circular project will reduce the digital gender gap and contribute to Action 13 of the Digital Education Action Plan 2021 – 2027 – Encourage the participation of women in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), funded by the EU and implemented across Europe which gives us the opportunity to mark N. Macedonia on the educational map of Europe.
